For over 20 years, Christy Curtis led in education and wellness before creating a practice devoted to helping others reconnect with their embodied clarity and joy.

Christy Curtis, MA, is the Founder of Grounded Joy Wellness, a holistic health-life coaching and mindfulness practice devoted to helping individuals reconnect to their bodies, restore self-trust, and live with clarity, confidence, and joy.

With over two decades of experience in education, leadership, and wellness, Christy brings a rare blend of academic expertise, embodied practice, and lived wisdom to her work. She has served as Orange County Teacher of the Year, Physical Education & Health Department Chair, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and Program Specialist in Mindfulness, Yoga, and Social-Emotional Development for public education systems in California. Her work has influenced thousands of students, educators, and leaders through curriculum development, professional trainings, and transformational programs rooted in nervous-system regulation and mindful movement.

Christy is a certified Health & Life Coach, 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, mindfulness guide, and published author. She is also a sought-after speaker and facilitator, leading workshops and retreats on mindful living, emotional resilience, intuitive movement, and sustainable well-being. Her teaching style is grounded, relatable, and deeply human—bridging science, soul, and practical application.

After navigating her own journey through anxiety, emotional eating, burnout, body image struggles, and major life transitions, Christy founded Grounded Joy Wellness as a space where healing is accessible, embodied, and empowering. Her work supports clients in releasing patterns that no longer serve them and cultivating lives rooted in presence, nourishment, and self-leadership.

Through Grounded Joy, Christy invites others to move, breathe, eat, and live with intention—because joy isn’t something to chase; it’s something to come home to.

Who are you really?

I am a woman who learned to come home to herself after years of being disconnected, in self-sabotage, and exhausted. A woman who experienced striving to “do it right” created strife, anxiety, and a deregulated nervous system. A woman who rescued herself from body shame, emotional eating, and challenging relationships.

A woman who cultivated joy after joy was lost and inner alignment was broken. A woman who created a path for others to return on their journey home to health, to who they are.
