Joy? Where Did You Go?
Mountain download + reflection…
“We cannot lower the mountain, therefore we must elevate ourselves.” —Todd Skinner
One of the most powerful practices is stopping the search for joy and creating space to feel what is actually here.
August…we began the month with a solar eclipse—we now end the month with a lunar eclipse + full moon. Between those bookends, I allow myself to FEEL whatever is here and sometimes, I have no flipping idea what that may be. And guess what? That is okay!
I have lived through seasons of life searching for joy, only to feel exhausted, depleted, or unhappy. I now rely on my body and trusting her inner wisdom to create that space for whatever shows up. It may be a familiar feeling or uncomfortably unknown, but it’s the ability to learn how to not skip over the mild interruption of “pause” long enough to let the feeling be experienced in the body, known in the mind, and expressed through action. It all passes, and with that—the reminder that joy is always here shows up. In a sunrise, smile from a stranger, squirrels climbing trees, a good night’s sleep.
Inviting you to create space to let go of whatever you’re chasing and let it find you. It’s already here.
