Silent Retreat Homecoming
Seven days without speaking.
No phone. No writing. No reading. No distractions.
Just me… and the one thing most of us spend our lives trying to outrun.
Ourselves.
People have asked me, “What did you gain from a week of silence?”
But that’s actually not the question.
The real gift wasn’t what I gained.
It was what I left behind.
I left behind the constant need to be doing…
the pressure to know what’s next…
the fear of being behind…
the habit of living almost entirely inside my head instead of inside my body.
A subtle shift...
I remembered what it feels like to actually inhabit this life.
To hear my own footsteps.
To notice my breath.
To feel the warmth of the sun on my skin.
To realize that when I’m fully present, my nervous system softens… and my inner wisdom becomes much louder than my overthinking.
Mindfulness isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you’ve been underneath the noise all along.
Most of us have become disconnected from our bodies.
We’ve learned to override our exhaustion, ignore our intuition, numb discomfort, chase more, and believe every thought our minds produce.
But your body has been speaking to you the entire time.
The practice is learning how to listen again.
One breath.
One step.
One moment at a time.
That is where regulation begins. That is where compassion begins. That is where joy returns.
This retreat reminded me that awareness is our birthright.
And every single one of us has the capacity to unlearn the habits, beliefs, and patterns that keep us disconnected from ourselves.
Coming home doesn’t happen somewhere outside of you.
It happens the moment you return to your breath… your body… and this moment.
Can’t wait to share more of the unfoldings with you.
If your heart has been whispering…
“I need a reset.”
This is your invitation.
